37 Indian innovations including AI healthcare, marine robotics, space technology, renewable energy and quantum computing

At the Bharat Innovates Exposition 2026 in New Delhi, 37 Indian deep-tech startups and ventures showcased technologies spanning healthcare, artificial intelligence, space, clean energy, electric mobility, quantum computing and robotics.

Held at Bharat Mandapam on 11–12 September alongside the 18th BRICS Summit, the exposition brought Indian innovators before international leaders, investors and businesses.

Here are some of the technologies that stand out.

AI That Can Assess Cervical Cancer Risk in Under 60 Seconds

One of the most striking innovations comes from Periwinkle Technologies.

Its AI-enabled cervical cancer screening and triage platform can provide a risk assessment in under one minute.

The significance goes beyond speed. Technologies that make screening faster and easier to deploy could potentially help bring early detection closer to women in places where specialist medical facilities are difficult to access.

AI Monitoring Mothers and Babies

Janitri Innovations is tackling another major healthcare challenge: monitoring mothers and babies during pregnancy and labour.

Its AI-supported maternal and fetal monitoring technology is designed to help healthcare professionals identify clinical risks.

It is an example of Indian technology being developed not merely for convenience, but to address problems with direct consequences for human life.

Breast Cancer Screening Without Radiation

Indian health-tech company Niramai has developed technology that uses thermal imaging and artificial intelligence for breast cancer screening.

Unlike mammography, the approach does not use radiation.

It demonstrates how AI combined with new diagnostic techniques could change the way large populations are screened for disease.

An Electric Motor Without Rare-Earth Magnets

Electric vehicles have a less visible challenge: many electric motors depend on rare-earth materials.

Chara Technologies is developing rare-earth-free electric powertrains.

Reducing dependence on rare-earth magnets could have implications not only for EV manufacturing but also for supply-chain resilience and the future of clean transportation.

Solar Power That Floats

Another technology showcased at Bharat Innovates is an advanced floating solar photovoltaic platform designed for challenging water bodies.

Instead of requiring additional land, floating solar installations can use reservoirs and other suitable water surfaces to generate electricity.

For a densely populated country with enormous energy requirements, finding new places to produce renewable power matters almost as much as improving the panels themselves.

Robots That Work Underwater

India's deep-tech ecosystem is also moving beneath the surface of the ocean.

A full-stack marine robotics platform showcased at the exposition is designed for inspection of critical infrastructure.

Marine robots can potentially inspect underwater structures and other difficult or dangerous environments where sending human divers is costly or risky.

As India's ports, offshore infrastructure and ocean economy expand, such technologies could become increasingly important.

Indian Eyes in Space

India's private space sector was represented as well.

Dhruva Space is developing small-satellite platforms, while GalaxEye is working on Drishti, an Earth-observation system combining radar and optical sensing.

Combining different types of sensors can help produce useful Earth imagery even when clouds, darkness or weather make conventional optical observation difficult.

Potential applications range from agriculture and disaster response to infrastructure and environmental monitoring.

India's Quantum Computing Ambition

Among the most futuristic technologies on display were quantum-computing systems from QpiAI.

Its systems range from an eight-qubit machine intended for education and research to the 64-qubit Kaveri processor.

Quantum computing is still an emerging field globally, but developing indigenous capability today could prove strategically important in the decades ahead.

Perhaps the most interesting part of Bharat Innovates is not any single machine or startup.

It is the range of problems Indian innovators are attempting to solve:

The 37 ventures displayed in New Delhi were selected from a larger cohort of 120 startups and ventures that participated in the first Bharat Innovates exposition in Nice, France, earlier in 2026.

Bharat Innovates is intended to connect India's universities, startups, laboratories and research parks with investors, corporations, universities and governments around the world.

That matters.

For decades, India's technological reputation abroad was dominated by the success of its IT-services industry.

The next chapter could be different.

It could increasingly be about technologies researched, engineered and built in India to solve difficult real-world problems.

From detecting cancer in less than a minute to sending robots beneath the sea, these innovations offer a glimpse of that India.

The world knows India for its ancient wisdom. It may increasingly know India for what it invents next.
